PR
For the attention of Webmasters looking for Link Exchange
My PR3 pages available for link exchange
My PR2 pages available for link exchange
My
Sites home page PR
Here is my list of 'RULES' for link exchange:
- I only do on-topic link exchange so don't waste my time and yours if you can't see a
page that suits on the lists below. By on-topic I mean I will put sports on my
swimming sites, pets on my portrait site (because it has pet portraits), contact lenses on
'eye ailment' pages on my health site and so on.
- PR3 and upwards preferred. P2 only if you have a good content page.
No PR1 unless you are offering me a home page link.
- I prefer good content pages and will give you the same. I try not to use link
pages any more. If you are offering only a link page then I will offer a comparable
link page back but frankly I think we are both not helping ourselves much.
- No site-wide link exchange unless VERY on-topic. By this I mean I won't put your
football site site-wide on my swimming site nor will I put your pharmacy site on my
natural health site. I may put your games site on one of my games sites or your
psychic site on my psychic site.
- I don't like links pages (or home pages) that you have abandoned and intend to stuff
with any and all links on all topics.
- I don't like directories. I will only accept your directory link if you are
offering a fair deal, ie your PR4 page for my PR3 content page, your PR3 for my PR2.
No directories below PR3 on the links page.

Don't bother harvesting my email address - it's changed regularly. You can always
reach me via this site or Digital Point.
Google PageRank Explained
PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link
structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a
link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more
than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that
casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves "important" weigh more heavily and
help to make other pages "important."
Important, high-quality sites receive a higher PageRank, which Google remembers each
time it conducts a search. Of course, important pages mean nothing to you if they don't
match your query. So, Google combines PageRank with sophisticated text-matching techniques
to find pages that are both important and relevant to your search. Google goes far beyond
the number of times a term appears on a page and examines all aspects of the page's
content (and the content of the pages linking to it) to determine if it's a good match for
your query.
Yahoo now has it's own version called WebRank about which Yahoo says "Web Rank is a
measure of how popular a web page is based on the number of links pointing at it."
We have no doubt that it won't be long before all search engines have their own version
of Pagerank.
